Westfield Insurance Quizbusters is a fast-paced new game show featuring some of the brightest minds to be found in Middle Tennessee. Each week two teams of four students representing the area's high schools will be competing to correctly answer questions from subjects ranging from academic subjects like science, mathematics and literature to more "trivial" pursuits like movies, popular music and culture. There's even a bit of local color thrown in for good measure.
As the students try to increase their team's score, the difficulty ratchets up every round until the "Lightning Round", where double the point awards and a ticking clock spell victory for the team that can best handle the pressure.
The highest scoring teams will go on to the Westfield Insurance Quizbusters Tournament, where over $31,000 in academic grants will be awarded to the participants by Westfield Insurance.
Tune in Sunday nights at 9:00 to cheer on your favorite school, to jeer on your rivals, or just see how you fare against Middle Tennessee's top whiz kids on Westfield Insurance Quizbusters, right here on Nashville's CW 58!

Guidelines for Grant Awards
Westfield Insurance (through Ohio Farmers Insurance Company) will pay a total of $31,500 to certain of the schools participating in the 2008-09 Quizbusters show. Of that amount, we will pay $10,000 to the school winning the 2008-09 Championship, $7,500 to the school finishing second in the 2008-09 Championship. The 3rd place school and 4th place school will each receive $5,000. We also will pay $1,000 to each school finishing in the next four highest places (5th through 8th place) for the 2008-09 year.
Ranking Earned Grant
5th through 8th place schools $1,000 each
3rd and 4th place schools $5,000 each
2nd place school $7,500
Championship school $10,000
Total $31,500
The money will be paid directly to the winning schools. The only restrictions are that:
- The grant is to be used for academic programs and purposes and not for athletic programs or purposes;
- The entire grant is not to be used for programs or purposes that solely benefit academically gifted students. A portion should be used for the benefit of students beyond the quiz team.
We encourage schools to use the grants for widespread benefit, for example: new computers or software, guest speakers, library books, etc.
